Long story short. I broke the connector strip when I was replacing the back cover. On Aliexpress I can only find the fingerprint sensor for Note 3 Pro. The connector strip has a different shape but I might be able to connect it -- if I know that the sensor would be recognized by the Redmi 3 Pro board.
Has anyone tried this sensor on the 3 Pro? I wouldn't want to buy it just to find out that it doesn't work.
